Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled LPN to join our Cardiology team at MaineHealth Accountable Care Organization. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our medical staff to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide basic quality nursing care to patients, collaborating with the registered nurse, medical assistant, and provider to collect data, plan, educate, implement, and deliver care safely and effectively.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address them.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
  • Document patient information and progress in a clear and concise manner, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, providing education and support as needed.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of best practices and policies.
Requirements
  • Diploma from an approved practical nursing program.
  • Active State of Maine Nursing License or eligible for licensure.
  • Two years of LPN experience preferred, with current BLS certification.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology.
  • Familiarity with healthcare systems, regulations, policies, and functions.
  • Understanding of documentation standards.
  • Knowledge of infectious disease management and control safety standards.
  • Skill in reading and following written and oral medical orders.
  • Skill in handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug dosages.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and diverse patient populations.
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of the electronic medical record.
