Ophthalmic Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Ophthalmic Assistant to join our team at Ochsner Health. As an Ophthalmic Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team in delivering high-quality services.
Key Responsibilities- Support licensed healthcare providers in delivering patient care and implementing healthcare services.
- Assist in maintaining a positive work relationship with the healthcare team and providing excellent communication skills.
- Exhibit the skills to provide care and service to individuals of all age groups.
- Complete documentation and maintain accurate records.
- Assume responsibility for professional development and maintaining required clinical knowledge, technical skills, and training.
- Adapt behavior to meet the specific needs of patients, including respect for privacy and adapting communication style.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Experience in an ophthalmic care setting is preferred.
The physical demands of this job include frequently exerting 10 to 20 pounds of force to move objects, occasionally exerting up to 100 pounds of force, and standing for prolonged periods.
