Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated CNC Solutions Engineer to enhance our operations at Select Machining Technologies, a division of Morris Group, Inc. Our company is a representative of esteemed brands in the CNC machine tool industry, providing advanced metal cutting technologies and integrated solutions to manufacturers of precision machined components across the United States.
Key Responsibilities:
The CNC Solutions Engineer will travel extensively across the country, ensuring that customer requirements are met in a dynamic industrial setting. This role involves utilizing cutting-edge instruments, sophisticated software systems, and a solid foundation in programming and engineering. Specific responsibilities include:
- Leading comprehensive projects, demonstrations, and customer-focused initiatives to guarantee timely and budget-conscious completion.
- Conducting pre-sales activities, including customer consultations, opportunity evaluations, machine assessments, and developing tailored proposals.
- Preparing precise cost estimates, drafting engineering reports, and interpreting technical plans and specifications.
- Designing and executing custom demonstrations while training clients on the safe operation of various CNC machining tools.
- Maintaining an extensive understanding of the machine tool industry and the product lines offered by the company.
- Evaluating part processing and generating cycle time estimates for customer opportunities.
- Implementing custom demonstrations at various locations, including vendor facilities.
- Taking ownership of customer-related issues and collaborating with sales and service teams to resolve problems effectively.
- Building and nurturing relationships with machine tool vendors and third-party partners.
- Providing training to customers on the safe setup and operation of CNC machining tools.
- Adhering to all corporate policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
- Participating in industry meetings, seminars, and training sessions to stay updated on advancements in the field.
- Willingness to travel extensively as required.
- Ability to travel 75-100% of the work week, including overnight and occasional international travel for training purposes.
- High School Diploma or GED from a technical institution.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in CNC control programming or relevant experience.
- Familiarity with controls such as Heidenhain, Siemens, or Fanuc is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail with technical proficiency.
- Capability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and related business software.
- A valid driver's license is required.

- Frequent use of hands and arms is required.
- Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must maintain composure in everyday stressful situations with the public and colleagues.
