Role SummaryThe Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide care for patients who are ill, injured, or recovering, as well as individuals with disabilities. This role involves working in various settings such as hospitals, nursing facilities, clinics, and private residences under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.
Responsibilities- Administer medications and initiate intravenous fluids, accurately documenting times and dosages on patient records.
- Monitor patients' conditions, documenting and reporting any changes, including adverse reactions to treatments.
- Respond to patient inquiries and determine appropriate assistance.
- Measure and record vital signs, including height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.
- Provide essential patient care and treatments, including wound care, temperature checks, and catheterizations.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to assess patient needs, plan care, and implement interventions.
- Evaluate the outcomes of nursing interventions, consulting with other healthcare professionals as necessary.
- Utilize medical equipment such as catheters and oxygen supplies effectively.
- Document patients' food and fluid intake and output.
Skills and Abilities:
- Comprehensive understanding of nursing and healthcare terminology.
- Exceptional patient care abilities.
- Strong communication skills and adaptability to work collaboratively.
- Reliable and punctual.
Education and Experience:
- Postsecondary certificate from a vocational institution or an Associate's degree in nursing is required.
- Current state licensure is mandatory.
- Certifications such as ACLS, BLS, LPN, LPN/LVN, LTC, PALS are essential.
- Flexibility to float to various Family/Internal Medicine locations as needed.
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ambulatory care experience is required.
• Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
• May require extended periods of standing, moving, and bending.
• Must be capable of lifting up to 75 pounds when necessary.
