About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Formulation Chemist to join our Research and Development team at RCM Technologies, Inc. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the development of innovative adhesive, sealant, and coating formulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Operations and R&D teams to create and commercialize new products.
  • Develop project plans and timelines for assigned projects, providing timely updates and reports as directed.
  • Provide technical support to Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and other Product Development staff as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with technical trends in the adhesive, sealant, and coatings market, and provide expertise on related raw materials, processes, and test methodologies.
  • Conduct literature and patent reviews, and make internal summaries and presentations on relevant developments in the field.
  • Familiar with Stage gate process and Design control procedure knowledge and document maintenance.
  • Work with EHS to support regulatory compliance.
  • Expected to be comfortable making presentations to research and development staff and other departments.
  • Interact with a small research and development team, and communicate effectively with all operating divisions.
Requirements
  • Good understanding of different chemistries, such as silicone, epoxy, urethane, UV curing, etc., and structure-property relationship.
  • Familiar with analytical analysis techniques, such as FT-IR, DSC, TGA, GC-MS, GPC, and different kinds of physical properties testing.
  • Experience with statistical analysis tools, such as DOE for preselecting candidates based on DOE test results.
  • Experience with silicone-based materials is a plus.
Education
  • MS in Chemistry/Materials Science/Chemical Engineering/Polymer Science with + years of experience: or PhD in Chemistry/Materials Science/Chemical Engineering/Polymer Science with + years of experience.
