Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, prevent, or treat disease, defects, or injuries, and recommend or prescribe treatments for the relief or cure of physical, mental, or functional ailments or defects.
  • Rend medical treatment to patients consistent with generally accepted professional standards of care, without regard to their ability to pay or any personal characteristics.
  • Complete accurate, legible, and timely records of medical examinations and procedures, using Current Procedural Terminology and International Classification of Diseases codes.
  • Provide after-hours call coverage, working collaboratively with other physicians to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Comply with standards of accepted medical practice, managed care organizations, and payors, including Medicare and Medicaid, and adhere to Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations standards.
  • Maintain sufficient continuing medical education to meet certification and state licensing board requirements.
  • Participate in non-revenue generating activities that advance the Vision and Mission of Prisma Health, such as serving on committees, community outreach, and teaching.
  • Assist in obtaining and maintaining licenses, permits, and authorizations, and achieving accreditation standards related to the business of the Practice or Department.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree.
  • Successful completion of residency and board certification or eligibility.
  • Medical Staff Privileges.
  • South Carolina Medical License.
  • South Carolina Controlled Substance License.
  • Drug Enforcement Agency Number.
Work Environment

This is a non-management position that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. The work shift is variable, and the location is Richland, with the facility being 2470 Richland Anesthesiology and the department being Richland Anesthesiology-Practice Operations.
