Position Overview

OrthoNebraska is seeking a Senior Sterile Processing Supervisor to join our dynamic Surgery team.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and enhance patient care standards by managing the operations of the Sterile Processing Department.
  • Ensure safe instrumentation practices by adhering to established protocols, aligning with private, state, and federal regulations.
  • Evaluate department staff performance through data analysis, coaching, education, and role modeling, as directed by management, to foster continuous improvement.
  • Utilize a structured approach to problem-solving and decision-making within your areas of responsibility.
  • Exhibit leadership by continually updating your knowledge in relevant areas to maintain professional competence.
  • Support department performance improvement initiatives by providing necessary resources to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all essential functions within the Sterile Processing department.
  • Adhere to safety policies and regulatory requirements, including OSHA, AAMI standards, and The Joint Commission, while participating in hospital-wide safety initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Sterile Processing Certification is mandatory.
Experience:
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Sterile Processing is required.
  • Prior leadership experience is essential.
Physical Requirements:
  • This role is classified as Light Work, necessitating the ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force consistently (66% of the time) to move objects. The physical demands exceed those of Sedentary Work.
