About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at Raytheon. As a key member of our Communication Systems department, you will be responsible for leading the development of full lifecycle solutions from concept to delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of full lifecycle solutions from concept to delivery
  • Define lab activities, including setup, configuration management, and testing
  • Define modeling, hardware, and software interfaces
  • Integrate solutions within their target environment
  • Work autonomously with limited oversight from manager
  • Coach and review the work of lower-level professionals
  • Influence others regarding policies, practices, and procedures
  • Manage small projects or processes
  • Manage the preparation and/or execution of design reviews and integration testing
  • Review and document changes in systems or processes to solve complex problems
  • Define and set objectives for area of responsibility
  • Communicate with team members within and outside of department
  • Communicate with customers, vendors, or subcontractors
  • Work to influence within and outside of work area at an operational level regarding policies, practices, and procedures
  • Influence decision-makers with recommended courses of action
  • Analyze and document system behaviors
  • Support system trade studies, requirements analysis, and allocation to subsystems
Requirements
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
  • Strong integration and test experience, including test procedure development, test automation, test execution, and test reporting
  • Proficient in tooling, including Microsoft products, or tasking boards (Jira, IBM EWM, etc.)
  • Ability to obtain a SECRET Security Clearance or Higher is REQUIRED within 1 year of start date
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient in tooling, including CAMEO, Rhapsody
  • Agile working environment experience
  • Test automation experience in a CI/CD environment
  • Outstanding communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) and ability to effectively communicate with IPT leaders, hardware and software development engineers, specialty engineers, program managers, and our customers
  • Systems support to software application development
  • Systems support to hardware development
  • System or application integration
  • System Level Integration, Verification, and Validation (IV&V) for ground-based, ship, submarine, or airborne platforms
  • Experience in Virtual Machine design and deployment
  • Experience in Communication Radio and Systems: SATCOM, LOS/BLOS, AEHF, PTW, or V/UHF
  • Experience in Scripting
