Job Overview

As a Financial Accountant II at Geiger Brothers, you will be integral to the management of our financial and accounting operations.

Position Summary: This role encompasses overseeing various financial and accounting tasks, focusing on indirect tax compliance, financial reporting, and treasury functions. You will collaborate with finance personnel and external auditors to enhance policies, procedures, and internal controls. Key duties include preparing tax documentation, managing audits, and ensuring adherence to tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate financial statements, including cash flow reports, reconciliations, analyses, and forecasts.
  • Support budget creation and monitoring, including revenue and expense forecasting.
  • Administer the general ledger, ensuring precise recording and reconciliation of financial transactions.
  • Assist in the deployment of indirect tax software and associated processes.
  • Evaluate financial data and produce reports to aid management in decision-making.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders as necessary.
  • Supervise the indirect sales and use tax function, ensuring timely and accurate filing of Sales & Use Tax returns while maintaining compliance calendars.
  • Collaborate directly with auditors to facilitate audits related to indirect tax and associated matters.
  • Document and uphold tax and treasury-related policies and procedures.
  • Prepare tax returns and filings for Personal Property tax, annual reports, unclaimed property, and federal/state income tax workpapers.
  • Provide insights to internal teams and external clients regarding indirect tax issues.
  • Work in partnership with sales, operations, and clients on tax exemptions and related concerns.
  • Execute other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with Vertex or other indirect/sales tax solutions is preferred.
  • Knowledge and skills typically associated with a minimum of 3 years of accounting experience are required.
  • Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP software is essential.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, query tools, and database applications are required.

  • Extended periods of sitting at a desk or using a computer.
  • Frequent typing and use of a computer keyboard.
  • Engaging in phone communication and corresponding via email.

  • Capacity to focus for prolonged periods, paying close attention to detail.
  • Aptitude for managing multiple tasks simultaneously and efficiently.

Environmental:

  • Work conducted indoors in a standard office setting.
  • Utilization of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers.
  • Interaction with team members and occasional communication with clients via various channels.

Certification Requirements:

  • Industry certification at the CAS (Certified Advertising Specialist) Level is preferred.
  • CPA, CTP, or similar professional designation is advantageous.
