Job Description

The Industrial Operations Manager - Equipment Maintenance plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facilities. Reporting to the Senior Management Team, this position is responsible for directing and coordinating the activities of a team of skilled workers engaged in maintaining and repairing equipment, structures, utility systems, buildings, and grounds.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance Management: Manage and coordinate the activities of workers engaged in maintaining and repairing equipment, structures, utility systems, buildings, and grounds.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with established safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Team Leadership: Directly supervise the maintenance department and oversee the performance management, attendance, and training functions.
  • Equipment Fabrication and Modification: Coordinate activities of workers fabricating or modifying machines, tools, or equipment to manufacture new products or improve existing products.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff.
  • Equipment Inspection: Inspect operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
  • Process Improvement: Plan, develop, and implement new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve safety issues and maintenance problems.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned by senior management.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need to possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least five years of experience in extrusion or similar processes. Three to five years of supervisory experience is also required. Additionally, you must demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities, effective management skills, and the ability to effectively communicate in a written and verbal manner.
