Position Overview

The RF Systems Technician will be responsible for assembling precision machined components with the necessary hardware, calibrating test setups for measurement based on established test plans, and generating comprehensive test reports. Collaborating with a team of design and test engineers, the technician will construct and evaluate prototype antennas and systems in accordance with engineering specifications and drawings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble, align, and tune antennas and subsystems following manufacturing documentation.
  • Conduct a variety of RF tests utilizing equipment such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers.
  • Diagnose, repair, and investigate manufacturing challenges.
  • Support root cause analysis efforts.
  • Contribute to the development of operational instructions and procedures.
  • Assist engineering teams with the transition of new products into production.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace to uphold a professional environment.
  • Identify potential design and production challenges.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with tuning passive microwave components, including hybrids, magic tees, filters, OMTs, and various antennas.

Additional Requirements:

  • Proficient in testing assemblies using network analyzers and signal generators.
  • Able to troubleshoot and investigate manufacturing issues.
  • Knowledgeable in mechanical assembly concepts and schematic interpretation.
  • Advanced soldering skills with IPC certification.
  • Familiar with the use, repair, and maintenance of tools and machinery.
  • Capable of reading technical drawings and bills of materials.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs and remain on feet for extended periods.

Education:

  • Associate's degree in engineering, technology, or relevant electromechanical experience in an RF environment, or equivalent military electronics training.
