Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor to join our Fire Technology department at College of the Canyons. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the field of Fire Technology, with a focus on creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Fire Technology courses, including lecture and lab components, to students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with industry standards and best practices.
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback to students, as well as contribute to the development of assessment tools and methods.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement departmental and institutional goals and objectives.
  • Participate in departmental and institutional committees, as well as professional development opportunities, to stay current with industry trends and best practices.
Requirements
  • Possession of a California Community College Instructor Credential in Fire Technology, or equivalent.
  • Any bachelor's degree and two (2) years of full-time equivalent professional experience directly related to the faculty member's teaching assignment, or equivalent.
  • Any associate degree and six (6) years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member's teaching assignment, or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching Fire Technology courses, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in Fire Technology.
  • Ability to create a dynamic and engaging learning environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions

Assignments may include Monday through Friday (day and evening), as well as Saturday classes.

Salary and Benefits
