R&D Mechanical Engineer

Maverick Power LLC is seeking a highly skilled R&D Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Engineering and Manufacturing teams, you will be responsible for designing and producing power distribution and control systems for industry-leading customers worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee designs for low and medium voltage switchgear, switchboards, panel boards, and control panels.
- Evaluate drawings and specifications to ensure designs meet customer requirements.
- Design electrical enclosures meeting applicable safety standards.
- Utilize FEA and CFD simulation to ensure structural and thermal requirements are met.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, testing, quality, and field service teams to ensure proper implementation of designs.
- Lead interactions with other functions and locations to determine optimum product/process solutions.
Requirements:
- Working knowledge of UL 891, UL 508A, IEEE/ANSI, and NEC/NFPA 70E standards.
- Previous design experience with low and medium-voltage switchgear assemblies/systems and associated equipment is desirable.
- Manufacturing experience regarding the assembly of bills of material, drawing packages, work instructions, and testing plans is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 3-5+ years of relevant experience.
- 3+ years of experience with 3D CAD, SolidWorks is preferred. CSWA/P/E certifications are desirable.
- 3+ years of experience with simulation software such as Ansys, Abaqus, or CAD integrated.
Work Environment:
- Office and manufacturing plant environment.
- Occasional travel may be required to visit suppliers or attend meetings.
