Architect Job Description

Bergmann, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design, is seeking an Architect to join our Architecture team in Albany, NY, Rochester, NY, or Buffalo, NY office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote an interdisciplinary design culture
  • Assist in programming and planning
  • Concept design and detailed design working with project teams
  • Manage and lead A/E design teams
  • Communicate with clients and maintain relationships
  • Engineering coordination
  • Problem-solving for design solutions
  • Code analysis and research
  • Materials and products analysis and research
  • Specification writing
  • Prepare and coordinate construction documents
  • Survey onsite work at client facilities
  • Coordinate communication between clients and Bergmann
  • Deliver clear and timely feedback to project teams
  • Monitor project team performance and approach to ensure quality standards and design goals are met
  • Participate in regular project-related meetings
  • Consider risk management by monitoring client and technical issues
  • Integrate design and technical aspects of projects
  • Have direct contact responsibility with clients and associated consultants
  • Ensure orderly and complete preparation, distribution, and retention of project written records
  • Understand design philosophies, building design concepts, design software, and delivery methods
  • Understand and respond to technical implications of design decisions
  • Assist Project Managers in establishing scope of work and services for projects
  • Assist in client and consultant proposals, fees, schedules, and contracts
  • Represent Bergmann's core values in spirit and practice
  • Promote office culture and studio mentorship within the office
Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of architectural experience
  • Bachelor of Architecture from an accredited university required
  • Architecture Licensure Required
  • Experience with Revit & AutoCadd a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite & Adobe Photoshop a plus
