Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist to join our team at Northern Nevada Health System. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of patient medical records.
Responsibilities- Conduct concurrent and retrospective reviews of inpatient medical records to evaluate the utilization and documentation of acute care services.
- Facilitate appropriate physician documentation of care delivered to accurately reflect patient severity of illness and risk of mortality.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance the quality of patient care.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external payers and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with reimbursement and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Education or International Medical Graduate.
- Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience in an acute care setting; critical care, medical/surgical or Emergency Department nursing preferred.
- Prefer CDIS Experience.
- Current RN license in the State of Nevada.
