About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist to join our team at Sierra Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of patient medical records.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct concurrent and retrospective reviews of inpatient medical records to evaluate the utilization and documentation of acute care services.
  • Facilitate appropriate physician documentation of care delivered to accurately reflect patient severity of illness and risk of mortality.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance clinical documentation practices.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external payers and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with reimbursement and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Education or International Medical Graduate.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience in an acute care setting, preferably in critical care, medical/surgical, or Emergency Department nursing.
  • Current RN license in the State of Nevada.
