Your Opportunity

Taylor Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our team.

As a key member of our IT team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our Windows server infrastructure. This includes building, upgrading, configuring, provisioning, installing, and administering Windows servers from scratch, spanning different platforms and configurations.

You will also be responsible for overseeing Windows Server cumulative patch updates and troubleshooting issues with patching. Additionally, you will perform basic monitoring, troubleshooting, and repair of all aspects of servers, operating systems, and hardware.

Responsibilities include responding to customer-impacting events, diagnosing, resolving, and communicating problems. You will also perform routine maintenance activities on customer server environments, upgrading and downgrading servers as needed.

You Must Have
  • Fluency in both verbal and written English language skills
  • Capability of working independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks based on supervisor guidance
  • Experience in upgrading Windows Server 2008 R2 to Windows 2012 R2
  • Skills in upgrading Windows Server 2012 R2 to Windows Server 2016, 2019, or 2022
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting issues related to Windows operating systems, software, and hardware
  • Competency in pre-implementation project planning and post-implementation documentation
  • Experience in utilizing Word and Excel from an end-user perspective
  • Experience with storage systems, deployment, and configuration, provisioning, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with Linux operating system environments
  • Experience with Hyper V and VM solutions
We Would Also Prefer
  • Experience with Microsoft server technologies and relevant training or certifications (MCSE or MCP certifications)
  • Experience performing first- or second-level Windows server operations support in a small- to mid-scale business
  • Basic understanding of network protocols, principles, and concepts, including the ability to troubleshoot local connectivity issues
  • Experience with service management framework such as ITIL
  • Experience creating and implementing a systems administration and improvement program to maximize uptime and service delivery in accordance with business needs and priorities
