The Environmental Services Floor Technician plays a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in designated areas by adhering to established procedures. This position emphasizes the significance of positive public relations and strives to enhance the overall appearance of the facility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts comprehensive floor care, including bonnet cleaning.
  • Performs extraction carpet cleaning.
  • Mops and scrubs various floor surfaces.
  • Buffs and waxes floors to maintain their shine.
  • Ensures proper disposal of waste materials.
  • Collects and distributes linens as required.
  • Prepares rooms for meetings as directed.
  • Maintains excellent public relations at all times.
  • Cleans outdoor areas surrounding the facility.
  • Follows safety protocols during all tasks, in line with established policies and procedures.
  • Reports any injuries or safety concerns involving employees, patients, or visitors to the supervisor.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
MINIMUM CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • No specific certification required.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Prior experience in housekeeping or a related service industry role.
MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Ability to effectively clean patient rooms.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Fundamental knowledge of floor care and carpet cleaning equipment.
  • Strong communication skills with patients, family members, visitors, and staff.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • At least one year of housekeeping experience, preferably in a healthcare environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to bend, twist, stoop, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Capability to climb ladders.
  • Ability to lift weights ranging from 25 to 55 lbs.
  • Walking and standing for 35% to 75% of the workday.
  • Able to push and pull weights between 25 to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional reaching above shoulder level.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Potential exposure to blood and body fluids.
  • Involvement with cleaning chemicals.
