Student Transportation of America is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a diesel mechanic, you will be responsible for performing complex operations on large commercial vehicles, including engine, electrical, fuel, brake, and exhaust repairs. You will also perform thorough preventive maintenance inspections and roadside service repairs.
Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough, accurate preventative maintenance inspections.
- Complete all required maintenance operations, including lubrication, fluid changes, brake adjustments, and tire rotation.
- Perform complex operations, including engine, electrical, fuel, brake, and exhaust repairs and field tests.
- Perform emergency roadside services as needed.
- Inspect equipment and diagnose mechanical defects.
- Document repairs and parts on work orders completely and accurately.
- Maintain tools and workplaces so that conditions are neat and orderly.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic or mechanic preferred.
- Accreditation from a school or certification program preferred.
- Complete all training requirements.
- Pre-employment background checks.
