The Haul Truck Operator is a critical role within our mining operations, responsible for safely transporting materials from the quarry to the primary crusher or surge pile. This position requires a high level of efficiency and awareness of safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities- Operate a haul truck or other equipment such as front end loader, dozer, and excavator as needed.
- Perform routine inspection and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Notify supervisor of any safety, mechanical, or electrical issues with assigned equipment.
- Interact with customers, co-workers, and management in a courteous and respectful manner.
- Maintain a high level of situational awareness, adapting to changing conditions and displaying problem-solving skills.
- Work in a variety of weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and dust.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule during peak times.
- Prior experience working in a mining environment is preferred.
- Ability to operate various pieces of heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
This role requires working outdoors and/or indoors, exposed to various elements. The ability to operate heavy equipment and machinery is essential.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands of this role include walking, sitting, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
