About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Transmission Planning Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Transmission Planning Team, you will play a pivotal role in developing a clean, affordable, and reliable 21st-century regional electric grid.
Key Responsibilities- Perform transmission planning studies to ensure the continued reliability and economic efficiency of the New England electric power system.
- Simulate electric transmission system behavior to identify potential system concerns and develop solutions.
- Analyze results to inform decision-making and develop recommendations for the management of Transmission Planning.
- Provide technical and procedural leadership, coordination, and facilitation within ISO-NE and among stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Ability to complete studies to assess system reliability and determine transmission system solutions to resolve concerns.
- Proficiency in applying planning criteria and conducting computer simulations of transmission system performance.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
ISO New England offers a hybrid work schedule with 2 days/week onsite, flexible and hybrid work arrangements, a base salary plus bonus program, professional development and tuition reimbursement, enhanced 401k and financial planning, wellness programs with onsite gym, eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF), and access to business networks.
