Job Description

Job Summary:

Ameri-Force is seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician to join our team. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical support to our customers in the field, ensuring that their equipment is installed and functioning properly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site field visits to supervise the installation of equipment and ensure that it meets industry standards and customer specifications.
  • Investigate and resolve customer reports of technical problems with equipment and perform routine repairs.
  • Partner with customers to ensure excellent communication and service, and go the extra mile to engage customers.
  • Review performance reports and documentation from customers and inspect malfunctioning or damaged equipment to determine the nature and scope of the problem.
  • Analyze inspection reports to determine the source of the problem and make recommendations for repair, replacement, or other corrective action.
  • Coordinate problem resolutions with Field Service, Engineering, and other inter-company departments to expedite repairs.
  • Maintain records of reports and submit them to the Field Service Manager and the Quality Department.
  • Provide recommendations to inter-company departments on recurring equipment problems noted in the field to instigate corrective action in design, production, and/or service to eliminate future problems.
  • Assist the Field Service Manager in providing day-to-day customer service to customer inquiries regarding equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, dismantle, and reassemble machines, equipment, and their subassemblies according to customers' needs following drawings and other written and verbal specifications.
  • Drill, tap, or ream holes, align components, and bolt, screw, or rivet them together using hand tools or portable power tools.
  • Install moving parts, such as shafts, levers, fan blades, bearings, and work them to test free movement.
  • Bend and install pipe for lubricating systems.
  • Align and mesh gears in a gearbox to assemble a system of gears including drive motors and fan shafts alignment.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance at customer facilities.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work cooperatively with others, deal respectfully with the public, customers, vendors, other employees, managers, and executive management.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently, work in a fast-paced environment, and interchange with others in the department.
  • Ability to work at heights exceeding 50 feet and operate various mobile elevating work platforms.
  • Strict adherence to Kelvion and Customer's Safety Requirements, including Personal Protective Equipment, Job Safety Analysis, and any and all paperwork and reporting for completing assigned tasks on customer's site.
  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation:

$27+ per hour, plus $75 per diem when out in the field.
