Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Cardiac Critical Care Unit (CCU) as a Nocturnist. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work closely with our physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients with complex cardiac conditions, including multi-system failure, advanced heart failure, and heart transplantation. Your expertise will be invaluable in supporting patients with severe states of shock, including mechanical ventilatory support and mechanical circulatory support.
Responsibilities- Evaluate and treat patients with acute and chronic cardiac conditions
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
- Conduct patient interviews and document patient histories, psychosocial histories, health status, and medical problems or potential problems
- Perform physical examinations and specialized diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures under the direction of a physician
- Assist physicians in diagnosing medical problems, developing care plans, and prescribing treatment
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Completion of an accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program
- Current licensure as an advanced practice nurse in the state of Georgia and certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body, or Certified as a Physician's Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- At least one year of direct experience in a high acuity clinical specialty
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association and Healthcare Provider certifications required
