About the Role:

The Fleet Mobile Mechanic is a critical member of our team, responsible for providing on-site mobile service and repair work for our fleet of semi-trailers and route trucks. This role requires a high degree of independence, productivity, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
  • Perform minor adjustments and repairs on various types of trucks and trailers, including electrical, brake, and cooling systems.
  • Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure they are working properly.
  • Independently manage parts inventory and equipment provided on company-issued service trucks and perform periodic reconciliation.
  • Maintain and operate company-issued service vehicles, conducting safety checks and pre/post-trip inspections.
  • Communicate with management via email or phone on work assignments, providing feedback on needed repairs and obtaining approvals when necessary.
  • Perform all work in compliance with organizational safety, health, and environmental policies, and federal regulations, to include OSHA, EPA, and DOT.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and meet company minimum driving qualifications.
  • Valid DOT medical card or ability to obtain one prior to employment or within 72 hours of hire.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Diesel & Gas Technician on medium to heavy-duty equipment repair or equivalent combination of technical education/certifications/skill/experience.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Basic math proficiency.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Adequate welding skills.
  • Proficient in the use of a computer and software programs.
