Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Multimedia Journalist to join our team at Telemundo Sacramento. As a key member of our news team, you will be responsible for creating engaging and informative news content for our Spanish-language audience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research and gather information for news stories using beat sources, contacts, and leads.
  • Shoot, write, create, and edit original news stories, ensuring accuracy, journalistic integrity, and fairness.
  • Deliver news reports with energy, confidence, and a professional appearance, showcasing excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Collaborate with news producers to develop story ideas and work on story development.
  • Coordinate, organize, and conduct interviews, as well as video-record them.
  • Develop ongoing "sweeps" and "special series" stories, showcasing your creativity and community involvement.
  • Represent Telemundo in community-related events, building relationships with community members and contacts for developing story leads.
  • Participate in community events and station activities as a master of ceremonies or host, as requested by the station.
  • Manage the upkeep of assigned company equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a reporter in Spanish-language broadcast television.
  • Excellent writing and verbal skills in English and Spanish, with a high level of skill and mastery of the Spanish language.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing situations.
  • Strong problem-solving and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
  • News judgment with a solid ethical decision-making process.
  • Highly competitive nature and ability to perform under tight deadlines.
  • Independent problem-solving and multi-tasking skills, with a creative approach to story development.
  • Strong writing skills, with the ability to connect with the audience on an emotional level.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required, both written and verbal.
