Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Multimedia Journalist to join our team at Telemundo Sacramento. As a key member of our news team, you will be responsible for creating engaging and informative news content for our Spanish-speaking audience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research and gather information for news stories using beat sources, contacts, and leads.
  • Shoot, write, create, and edit original news stories, ensuring accuracy, journalistic integrity, and fairness.
  • Present news reports with energy, confidence, and a professional appearance, demonstrating strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Work independently to gather news, using a video camera as needed, and collaborate with news producers on story ideas and development.
  • Coordinate, organize, and conduct interviews, and develop ongoing "sweeps" and "special series" stories.
  • Represent Telemundo in community events, build relationships with community contacts, and establish a community presence outside of newscasts.
  • Manage company equipment and maintain a professional presence in all aspects of the job.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a reporter in Spanish market broadcast television.
  • Strong writing and verbal skills, with excellent English and Spanish language proficiency.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing situations.
  • High level of skill and mastery of the Spanish language, with a strong network of contacts and sources.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, with excellent problem-solving and multi-tasking skills.
Eligibility Requirements
  • Must be 18 years or older, with a valid driver's license and unrestricted work authorization in the United States.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and report to work in emergencies as needed.
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Journalism or Communications, or a related field.
