Key Responsibilities:

  • Security Testing: Execute thorough security assessments on software systems, applications, and network infrastructure to uncover security flaws. Formulate and implement detailed testing strategies, evaluate results, and collaborate with relevant teams to enact necessary improvements.
  • Security Infrastructure Oversight: Manage and enhance our security infrastructure, including SIEM, EDR, NDR, VM, WAF, firewalls, email security, IAM, and more, ensuring alignment with security goals and industry best practices.
  • Vulnerability and Incident Oversight: Direct the processes for managing vulnerabilities and incidents, prioritizing and resolving issues identified during security assessments to maintain compliance with security policies and standards.
  • Project Management: Lead and coordinate security assessment projects, ensuring they are completed efficiently and effectively. Develop and prioritize security initiatives to strengthen our assessment capabilities and overall security posture.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Generate detailed security assessment reports, maintain records of testing methodologies and findings, and ensure that security policies and procedures are up-to-date.
  • Compliance Audits: Perform security audits and reviews, providing metrics and visual aids to support compliance efforts. Conduct regular security assessments and audits.
  • Security Training and Awareness: Assist in the development of internal security testing and monitoring processes, educating stakeholders on emerging security technologies and best practices in security assessments.
  • Risk Evaluation and Mitigation: Collaborate with IT and other departments to evaluate and mitigate security risks, using assessment results to drive proactive risk management strategies.
  • Ongoing Education: Keep informed about the latest IT security technologies and trends, particularly advancements in security testing tools and methodologies. Share knowledge and insights with the team to foster innovation.
  • Support for Compliance: Work with internal compliance teams to address compliance requirements through policy development and process enhancement, ensuring security assessment practices meet regulatory standards.
  • Emergency Support: Participate in on-call duties to assist essential business clients and respond to urgent situations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of software engineering experience, preferably with a focus on Python, though other open-source languages are also considered.
  • Experience in designing and implementing SOAP, REST, and APIs.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and the DevOps/IAAC ecosystem.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of security engineering, security testing methodologies, computer and network security, authentication, security protocols, and applied cryptography.
  • AWS Proficiency: Familiarity with AWS is a significant advantage.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CISSP, OSCP, or CEH are highly preferred.
