Management and Training Corporation (MTC) is seeking a skilled Librarian to join our team at the North Central Correctional Complex in Marion, Ohio. As a Librarian, you will play a vital role in providing educational and recreational resources to inmates, promoting their rehabilitation and successful reintegration into society.
Key Responsibilities- Program Development: Plan and direct library programs for inmates, including book clubs, author talks, and other engaging activities.
- Collection Management: Select, acquire, and organize library materials, including books, audiobooks, and digital resources, to meet the diverse needs of inmates.
- Reader's Advisory: Provide personalized reading recommendations to inmates, taking into account their interests, reading level, and educational background.
- Library Operations: Manage the day-to-day operations of the library, including circulation, cataloging, and maintenance of library materials.
- Community Engagement: Collaborate with other correctional staff to promote the library's services and resources to inmates, and to develop programs that support their rehabilitation and reentry into society.
- Education: Master of Library Science (MLS) degree required.
- Experience: One year of related experience and valid Learning Resources Certification required.
- Certifications: Valid driver's license in the state of Ohio with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work with diverse populations, and proficiency in library software and technology.
