In this role, you will be entrusted with providing exceptional care to patients suffering from end-stage renal disease who are undergoing peritoneal dialysis therapy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients prior to, during, and following peritoneal dialysis sessions.
- Prepare and oversee the functionality of peritoneal dialysis apparatus.
- Instruct patients and their families on the peritoneal dialysis procedure, including home-based options when relevant.
- Observe and modify dialysis settings as required.
- Administer medications and address complications associated with peritoneal dialysis.
- Accurately document patient information and maintain comprehensive records.
- Collaborate with nephrologists, social workers, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care.
- Offer emotional support and motivation to patients throughout their peritoneal dialysis experience.
Qualifications:
- Valid RN licensure in the state of Michigan.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Strong clinical assessment and analytical skills.
- Exceptional communication and patient education abilities.
- Capability to thrive in a dynamic healthcare setting.
- Experience in peritoneal dialysis or renal care is highly beneficial.
