Job Summary

The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for managing the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices, and maintaining vendor relationships. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process invoices for payment, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Serve as a key gatekeeper in safeguarding the Association from financial fraud
  • Input vendor and invoice data into the Accounts Payable system
  • Coordinate accounts payable check runs and distribute checks
  • Input ACH payments into the Accounts Payable system
  • File relevant documentation and maintain organized accounts payable files
  • Collaborate with vendors and staff to resolve invoice discrepancies
  • Void checks and invoices in the Accounts Payable system as needed
  • Maintain up-to-date W-9 information for all vendors
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Accounts Payable or a related financial role
  • A high school diploma is required
  • Knowledge of general ledger and accounting functions preferred
  • Proficient data entry skills with working knowledge of Excel and word processing software
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
