We are seeking a skilled and compassionate ICU RN to join our team at Medical City Lewisville. As a PRN ICU RN, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our intensive care unit.
Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care needs of patients
- Document nursing care in compliance with policies, procedures, and practices established by the Nursing Department and the hospital
- Initiate and carry out nursing plan of care
- Administer standard medications, blood, and blood products
- Provide for activities of daily living for patients
- Transport patients
- Maintenance of peripheral, central, and PICC lines
- Identification of potential and actual life-threatening dysrhythmias
- Management of patients requiring alternative methods of ventilation and limited mechanical ventilation
- Management of vasoactive and cardiac-specific pharmacological agents
- Management of patients with a variety of medical diagnoses and resulting complications
- TX RN licensure or RN compact state license
- ADN required; BSN preferred
- BLS
- ACLS preferred (must be obtained within 6 months of hire)
- Minimum of 1 year recent nursing experience in area of practice in an acute care setting
Medical City Lewisville is a full-service 190+ bed medical and surgical facility. We offer a broad spectrum of care to the communities of southern Denton County. We have emergency services at our main campus and at Medical City ER Flower Mound. Our patient tower has two floors dedicated to women's services. We have a specialty obstetrics referral center for high-risk OB services. We have a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Medical City Lewisville is a Level III Trauma Center and a Primary Stroke Center.
