Adult Psychiatrist for Outpatient Care

We are seeking a qualified Adult Psychiatrist to become a vital part of our behavioral health team within a well-established, not-for-profit healthcare organization. This facility is affiliated with prestigious medical schools, providing a supportive environment for both professional growth and patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage medication for adult outpatients and those in intensive outpatient programs, including patients with dual diagnoses.
- Oversee the work of Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs).
- Engage actively in team meetings and committees, including peer review sessions.
- Conduct an average of two medication check appointments per hour.
- Provide occasional coverage for the inpatient psychiatric unit as needed.
- Participate in a shared call rotation with three other psychiatrists, typically every fourth weeknight from home.
- Commit to two weekends annually for on-site patient rounds.
- Serve as backup for moonlighters during weekend coverage.
Qualifications:
- Possession of an active Medical License in the State of Connecticut.
- Current Connecticut Controlled Substances Practitioner Registration.
- Valid DEA Practitioner Registration.
- Board Certification in Psychiatry is required.
- Preferred: Active Buprenorphine (Suboxone) Physician Waiver.
