The Masonicare Health Center is a 260-bed Skilled Nursing Facility.
As a Nursing Supervisor, you will operate under the guidance of the Assistant Director of Nursing and the Director of Nursing. You will be entrusted with the authority and responsibility to uphold established standards of nursing practice and care, while providing direction for the ongoing delivery of nursing services. Collaboration with Clinical Nurse Managers is essential to ensure the quality, safety, and appropriateness of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain departmental policies, procedures, and objectives to ensure consistent nursing practice standards throughout the facility.
- Oversee nursing operations during off-shifts, including personnel allocation, coordination of activities, and supervision of nursing staff, serving as a clinical resource.
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care tailored to the physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related needs of residents/patients.
- Communicate effectively with all staff through verbal reports and written documentation, attending necessary meetings to relay important information.
- Enhance professional growth through participation in educational programs, both within and outside the facility.
- Attend all mandatory educational programs and meetings.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program; a Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related healthcare field is preferred.
Experience: 1-2 years in a supervisory role is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications: Current RN license in the State of Connecticut; CPR certification required.
Key Competencies: Ability to assess and prioritize resident needs accurately, management and supervisory skills, conflict resolution abilities, strong interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and proficiency in computer usage.
