Job Summary:

The Radiology Technician will perform Diagnostic Imaging procedures for ambulatory patients in a Physician Office and Clinic Settings under general supervision of a Radiologist/Clinician.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Diagnostic Imaging procedures according to exam protocol in a timely manner.
  • Explain the procedure to patients, ensuring they are relaxed and at ease during the exam.
  • Provide care to patients while obtaining diagnostic quality images for interpretation by a Radiologist.
  • Identify patient service requirements by utilizing AIDET when communicating with patients.
  • Prepare patients for radiological procedures by positioning them, adjusting immobilization devices, and moving equipment into specified positions.
  • Minimize radiation to patients and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques.
  • Document pregnancy status of female patients of youth-bearing age and the shielding precautions taken during the imaging study.
  • Ensure operation of Radiology equipment by performing quality checks and trouble-shooting equipment as required.
  • Maintain radiology supplies inventory by checking stock, anticipating needed supplies, and placing orders for supplies.
  • Wear personal monitoring devices and submit them regularly for assessment of occupational dosage.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an Accredited Program
  • Less than 1 Year of Experience
  • Licensed by the State of Texas Medical Board as a Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist (LMRT)
  • BLS Certificate
