Job Title: Course Accommodation Aide

College of DuPage is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Course Accommodation Aide to support students with disabilities in achieving their academic goals.

Job Summary:

The Course Accommodation Aide will play a vital role in ensuring equal access to educational resources for students with disabilities. This position involves collaborating with faculty and staff to implement effective accommodations and support strategies tailored to individual student needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide scheduled support services in the classroom and various other settings to students with accommodations as assigned by the Manager or Coordinator.
  • Help students utilize assistive technologies and adaptive equipment in a classroom, lab, or testing setting.
  • Proctor, read, or scribe exams to individuals who have been approved for testing accommodations.
  • Monitor student behavior to ensure safety and appropriate interactions.
  • Report student progress to faculty and staff as needed.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate familiarity and understanding of The ADA and Section 504.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills required.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
  • Experience working with adults and/or in Higher Education preferred.
  • Proficiency in specific academic disciplines preferred (for example: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, etc.).
Working Conditions:

Work flexible shifts including weekends according to student needs.
