Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Anesthesia Technician to join our team. As an Anesthesia Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Stock and maintain anesthesia carts and surgical suites with the necessary supplies.
  • Assist with difficult airway management by providing equipment support to providers.
  • Deliver blood samples to the lab and retrieve blood products as needed.
  • Disassemble, decontaminate, and sterilize anesthesia equipment and supplies.
  • Perform Point of Care (POCT) testing procedures after completing an initial approved competency.
  • Communicate effectively with anesthesia and operating room staff to prioritize daily operating room assignments.
  • Transport anesthesia equipment and supplies to and from outside operating rooms.
  • Maintain accurate records and inventory of equipment and supplies.
  • Participate in room turnover to minimize downtime between cases.
  • Retrieve and distribute necessary equipment and medications for patient preparation.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) required within new hire competencies.
  • Minimum of one year experience working in a healthcare setting or successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or similar healthcare-related training program.
  • Direct patient care and/or surgical/OR environment experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and Microsoft Office applications preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Extended periods of walking, standing, lifting, and carrying equipment (usually not over 20 lbs.).
  • Capable of pushing and maneuvering equipment weighing up to 150 pounds.
  • May be exposed to bodily fluids.
