Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialist

We are seeking a part-time Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialist to join our Special Education Department.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will work as a member of our team, providing support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing. This is a 20-hour per week position, based at our Marion Center in Salem, OR.
Duties and Responsibilities- Provide support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a variety of settings
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement individualized education plans
- Communicate with students, parents, and staff using American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication methods
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
Successful candidates will have a strong background in special education, experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, and proficiency in ASL. A license to practice as a special education professional in the state of Oregon is also required.
