Position Overview:

We are seeking a bilingual Spanish-speaking Community Resource Advocate to join our Healthy Families team. In this role, you will play a vital part in outreach and intake initiatives aimed at supporting families in need.

Your responsibilities will include conducting assessments to identify appropriate community service referrals, including ongoing support through our Healthy Families program.

You will also serve as a representative of the Healthy Families initiative, promoting its benefits within the community and providing necessary administrative support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute an Outreach Strategy to engage with community stakeholders, including partner organizations and potential program participants.
  • Create and distribute promotional materials to raise awareness about the Healthy Families program.
  • Deliver presentations on program services and relevant educational topics to community groups.
  • Maintain strong relationships with referral agencies to ensure a steady flow of program participants.
  • Conduct strength-based assessments to determine eligibility for services, adhering to established best practices.
  • Connect families with additional community resources as necessary.
  • Document assessments and maintain accurate client records in compliance with program standards.
  • Assist in organizing group activities for Healthy Families clients.
  • Support the Program Supervisor in various administrative tasks, including team meetings and training sessions.
  • Participate actively in community groups relevant to the Healthy Families mission.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and supervision sessions.

Qualifications:

We recognize that skills can be acquired through various experiences. Candidates should possess:

  • A high school diploma or GED; college coursework is preferred.
  • Experience working with children and families, particularly those with infants and toddlers.
  • Familiarity with Healthy Families services is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with diverse populations.
  • Fluency in English is required; bilingual skills in Spanish or other languages are a plus.
  • Proficiency in basic technology, including Microsoft Office Suite.

Additional Requirements:

Successful candidates will undergo background checks and may need a valid driver's license and reliable transportation for client visits. Flexibility to accommodate client schedules, including some evening and weekend work, is essential.
