Network Systems Specialist

At Morrison-Maierle, we're committed to building better communities, and we're looking for a skilled Network Systems Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and security of our network systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot network systems to ensure seamless communication and data transfer.
  • Configure hardware, such as routers and switches, to optimize network performance and security.
  • Monitor network performance, identify issues, and perform routine maintenance to prevent downtime.
  • Diagnose and resolve connectivity problems, slow performance, and security breaches.
  • Implement and maintain security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and data encryption, to protect against cyber threats.
  • Provide technical support to users, including password resets, software installations, and connectivity issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, and procedures for future reference and compliance purposes.
  • Ensure regular backups of data and implement disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime in case of network failures.
Requirements:
  • At least four years of IT service support experience.
  • Preferred background in managed service provision, though not required.
  • Proficiency in Windows Server and desktop operating systems.
  • Experience with network fundamentals, including IP addressing, subnetting, VLANs, and routing.
  • Experience with network troubleshooting and tools, such as Wireshark, ping, and tracert.
  • Experience with server installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMware and Hyper-V.
  • Familiarity with backup solutions and disaster recovery processes.
  • Understanding of basic security principles, including firewalls, antivirus, and encryption.
  • Proficiency with remote desktop tools and management software.
  • Experience with diagnosing and repairing hardware issues for servers and workstations.
