Position Overview:
This Lead Physical Therapy Supervisor role is situated within the Sensory & Physical Rehabilitation services at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. This is a full-time position requiring a commitment of 40 hours per week.
Eligibility:
Health Professions Trainees (HPT) who are nearing graduation and have yet to fulfill educational or certification/licensure requirements may be considered for this role, but hiring will be contingent upon meeting all necessary qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
The incumbent will oversee the clinical and administrative functions of the physical therapy program, ensuring high-quality care delivery. Responsibilities include:
1. **Supervision and Management:** Directly manage a diverse team of physical therapists and support staff, ensuring effective performance and adherence to clinical standards.
2. **Clinical Oversight:** Provide guidance and mentorship to staff PTs, utilizing contemporary physical therapy practices across various specialties.
3. **Human Resources Administration:** Engage in the recruitment, selection, and evaluation of staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
4. **Program Development:** Collaborate with leadership to establish program objectives and implement policies that align with the overall mission of the Veterans Health Administration.
5. **Budget Management:** Oversee fiscal responsibilities, ensuring optimal resource utilization and program effectiveness.
Qualifications:
To qualify for this supervisory role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- **Citizenship:** Must be a U.S. citizen.
- **Education:** A Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy is required, along with relevant experience in the field.
- **Licensure:** A current, unrestricted license to practice physical therapy in the United States is mandatory.
- **Proficiency:** Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in both written and spoken English.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in outpatient physical therapy settings and supervision of interdisciplinary teams is highly desirable.
Work Schedule:
This position operates Monday through Friday, with a standard workday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Telework may be permitted on an ad-hoc basis.
Additional Information:
This role is not a virtual position and does not involve relocation incentives. The incumbent may be required to travel to various VA facilities as needed.
