Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Plans Examiner to join our team at Ad-vance Talent Solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plumbing trade procedures, materials, and practices, as well as knowledge of all aspects of construction methods and materials.

As a Plans Examiner, you will be responsible for reviewing plans and inspecting buildings to ensure code compliance, meeting with contractors, engineers, architects, and others regarding construction issues, and researching information in the municipal archives upon request of public officials and private citizens.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and inspect plans to ensure compliance with building codes and ordinances
  • Meet with contractors, engineers, architects, and others to discuss construction issues
  • Research information in the municipal archives to provide accurate and up-to-date information
  • Perform other departmental responsibilities and duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalent diploma
  • Five (5) years of experience in trades as a building inspector, builder, engineer, architect, superintendent, foreman, or competent mechanic in charge of construction
  • Valid Florida Driver's License and be insurable by the City's current insurance provider
  • ICC/State certified Plumbing Inspector license is required within two (2) years of employment
  • ICC/State certified Plans Examiner license is required within two (2) years of employment
