About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mobile Medical Technician to join our team at DispatchHealth Management. As a Mobile Medical Technician, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in the comfort of patients' homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with physical exams, point-of-care testing, and data gathering to support patient care
  • Work at the direction of a virtual DispatchHealth Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to provide comprehensive care to patients
  • Drive DispatchHealth vehicle to meet patients at their place of need and load and unload supplies for daily activities
  • Communicate with healthcare providers via messaging, video conference, and mobile device to ensure seamless care coordination
  • Obtain patients' vital signs and assist in the collection of patient data to inform care decisions
  • Facilitate physical exams using a mobile device and conduct other diagnostic tests and treatments as requested by virtual providers, as permitted by state law
  • Perform point-of-care lab testing as directed by virtual providers to support accurate diagnosis and treatment
  • Provide discharge instructions in conjunction with virtual providers to ensure patients receive clear guidance on post-visit care
  • Responsible for equipment use, care, and allocation to ensure optimal functionality and safety
  • Restock and clean equipment at end of shift to maintain a clean and organized workspace
Requirements
  • Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic certification (EMT-P) in the state in good standing
  • Minimum one (1) year patient-facing experience
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • BLS, American Heart Association
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to walk up and down several flights of stairs easily while carrying equipment
  • Strong customer service, communication, and technological skills
  • Previous experience with comprehensive history gathering and documentation within EMR
  • Previous experience with basic procedural skills
  • Candidates with a bachelor's degree in a core science or lab science and have a minimum of 2 years' experience in chemistry and hematology, especially with experience using an i-STAT device, are encouraged to apply
  • Cultural competency - ability to interact with patients and families and develop rapport and trust, ability to communicate and provide verbal professional clinical presentations/summaries
  • Function autonomously and as part of a team to responsibly deliver care with flexibility and open-mindedness
  • Continuous learner with strong critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work a varied schedule with evenings, holidays, and weekends required
