Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead our design engineering efforts for capital projects at our South San Francisco site. As a key member of our team, you will provide technical leadership and accountability for mechanical engineering designs, engage with industry experts, and develop site-specific mechanical design standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to design teams on mechanical engineering designs for capital projects
  • Develop and maintain site-specific mechanical design standards, aligned with Roche/Genentech corporate standards
  • Collaborate with Alliance Partner engineering firms to develop strategies for upgrading deficient areas of the campus
  • Engage with industry experts and external organizations to stay up-to-date on mechanical system trends and new technologies
  • Support broad Design Engineering process improvement initiatives to improve team processes and functioning
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 15+ years of pharmaceutical technology experience, with at least 8 years in mechanical system design, construction, and/or commissioning
  • Working knowledge of mechanical codes and design standards, including ANSI/ASHRAE, NEMA, NFPA, EPA, and OSHA standards
  • Excellent communication, presentation, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with ability to work independently and as part of a team
What We Offer

Genentech offers a competitive salary range of $139,000 - $258,100 USD Annual, based on experience and qualifications. A discretionary annual bonus may be available, and we offer a comprehensive benefits package.
