Job Summary

We're seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our Building, Energy, and Infrastructure (BEI) Group. As a key member of our team, you'll provide technical and design services on projects in the Buildings, Energy, and Infrastructure group, supporting power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and voice/data systems for various facility types.

Responsibilities
  • Generate electrical design/construction drawings using REVIT and AutoCAD software.
  • Observe electrical construction progress on projects where you've had significant involvement.
  • Prepare design computations and assessments, perform technical evaluations, and prepare technical reports and correspondence under the guidance of a more-senior engineer.
  • Responsible for completing assigned design tasks within budget and on schedule.
  • Communicate and coordinate with the Project Manager, Sr. Electrical Engineer, and other design team members to complete work efficiently.
  • Report directly to your Senior Engineer.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an electrical focus from an ABET-accredited university.
  • 2-4 years of documented applicable experience working on facilities similar to those described above.
  • Process-oriented individual with strong organization, technical, and communication skills.
  • Solid communicator, able to take and understand directives from Project Manager and Electrical lead and coordinate efforts with design team.
  • Able to complete work consistently with flexibility to accommodate varying project demands.
  • Must maintain a high level of precision and accuracy and be methodical in approach to work.
  • 2+ years of Autodesk REVIT experience gained in a similar design-related field.
  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of software, as well as Bluebeam.
  • Knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC) commensurate with your years of experience.
  • High technical aptitude, interested in technology and staying current in your field.
  • Ability to climb ladders and perform field survey duties.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle and criminal record.
What Will Make You Stand Out
  • Experience with AutoCAD preferred.
  • Having passed the FE/EIT examination, and working toward becoming a licensed Professional Engineer within a few years.
