Job Title: Monarch Watch Communications Intern

Monarch Watch is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Communications Intern to support our team in promoting our mission and programs. The ideal candidate will have strong written and oral communication skills, experience with social media platforms, and a passion for science writing and public relations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement content strategies for various Monarch Watch platforms, including the website, social media, and print materials.
  • Represent Monarch Watch at events and to visitors, providing excellent customer service and promoting our programs.
  • Support other Monarch Watch programs and activities as needed, including research and conservation efforts.
Requirements:
  1. Currently enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours during the semester term of the appointment.
  2. Strong written and oral communication skills, as evidenced in application materials.
  3. Experience with social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
  4. Experience working independently and collaboratively as a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Coursework in journalism, communications, marketing, or related field.
  2. Coursework in biology or related field.
  3. Past volunteer, internship, or employment experience in writing, public speaking, design, or related fields.
  4. Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar software.
