Medical Technologist (Reference Lab)

Our Reference Laboratory is a leading facility in the country, accredited by AABB for Immunohematology Reference Laboratories. We are seeking a skilled Medical Technologist to join our dynamic team in performing molecular immunohematology testing, routine and complex transfusion service testing, and assisting area hospitals in resolving unexpected serologic results.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational, communication, and computer skills, with a certification by a recognized certifying agency and a LA CLS license. Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform all transfusion service testing
  • Maintain the rare donor file
  • Assist in resolving unexpected serologic results
Requirements:
  • BS in Medical Technology or BS in Science with appropriate certificate
  • MT (ASCP) or MT (ASCP) SBB certification
  • LA CLS-G license
  • Extensive blood bank background
Working Conditions:

This position will be accomplished in a well-lighted, air-conditioned laboratory. The employee will be subject to hazards, atmospheric conditions, and long periods of viewing a computer terminal, microscope monitor-type equipment.
