Job Summary

Artera is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our utility crew. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment and machinery in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment, such as excavators and backhoes, to excavate trenches and structures, lay pipe and precast concrete structures, and load trucks and backfill trenches.
  • Place shoring and trench boxes to ensure safe working conditions.
  • Perform daily inspections on equipment to identify any issues or deficiencies.
  • Complete inspection paperwork daily and notify the Foreman of any issues or defects.
  • Assist the crew as needed in operating other equipment and helping laborers on the ground.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Foreman.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of safe operation and driving practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and materials.

Working Conditions

The Heavy Equipment Operator will work in a variety of environments, including urban, suburban, and rural settings. The physical demands of the job include operating heavy equipment and lifting and moving heavy materials.
