Position Overview:
The Night Hospitalist plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive patient care by evaluating medical histories and synthesizing relevant health data. This position involves educating patients and their families about treatment plans and providing general medical care to hospitalized individuals. The Nocturnist serves as the primary physician for patients during their hospital stay.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct patient care in a hospital environment during night shifts.
- Analyze patient medical histories and prioritize health data to inform care decisions.
- Educate and consult with patients and their families regarding treatment options.
- Collaborate with patients to enhance their health outcomes.
- Practice with consideration for cultural diversity and legal responsibilities.
- Document patient information electronically in compliance with licensure requirements.
- Engage in a multidisciplinary approach to case management.
Practice Highlights:
- Part of a large team of Hospitalists and Advanced Practice Providers.
- Access to a 24-hour Intensive Care Unit with dedicated Intensivists.
- Full-time night shifts available across multiple hospital campuses.
- Standard 12-hour shifts from 10 PM to 8 AM.
Qualifications:
- MD, DO, or equivalent international training required.
- Board Eligible/Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
- Possession of an active, unrestricted medical license in Minnesota or ability to obtain one.
- Capability to secure and maintain DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI).
- Must meet credentialing and hospital privilege requirements.
- ACLS/BLS certification required within 180 days of hire.
