About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Systems Engineer to join our team at Sargent & Lundy. As a key member of our HVAC Engineering group, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative HVAC systems for commercial, laboratory, and industrial facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop HVAC systems, including commercial/industrial ventilation systems, control room HVAC, laboratory HVAC, chilled water system design, and heating system design.
  • Perform design calculations and develop detailed system designs.
  • Prepare technical specifications for HVAC equipment and prepare engineering studies.
  • Provide support to other engineers, project managers, client personnel, and suppliers to ensure a complete and timely design.
  • Assist senior engineers with reviews of existing facilities to propose upgrades and replacements, and present findings and recommendations to clients and peers.
Requirements
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program.
  • Ten or more years of relevant HVAC system and chilled water system design experience for commercial, laboratories, and industrial facilities.
  • Proficiency in TRACE 700 or 3D+ program, AutoCAD, and Microstation, with the ability to create design flow diagrams and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Prior knowledge of relevant codes and standards applicable to HVAC and ventilation systems.
