Mental Health Support Specialist

$17.50-$19.00 per hour

Role Summary
The Mental Health Support Specialist is tasked with executing mental health interventions and crisis management for children and families utilizing the Clinical Home framework. This role encompasses delivering psycho-educational sessions for youth and families, providing intensive case management services, and facilitating one-on-one support in various environments such as schools, homes, and community settings to enhance the mental health objectives outlined in the child’s treatment plan. The Specialist will engage in regular supervision and training sessions to ensure effective service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct behavioral support and teach individualized skills, which may involve both individual and group interventions, psycho-educational sessions, and crisis management for identified children and families within educational and community contexts.
  • Foster a collaborative relationship with the client’s parent or guardian.
  • Gather and maintain updated information pertinent to the client’s records.
  • Implement tailored crisis intervention plans for each client and family, collaborating with the treatment team to mitigate crises.
  • Participate in on-call crisis management as required during evenings, nights, and weekends.
  • Assist in the debriefing process following crisis events to develop more effective strategies for the families served.
  • Attend and actively engage in weekly group supervision sessions.
  • Document and complete daily case records in compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Participate in all required training and professional development workshops.
  • Provide Structural Family Therapy interventions for clients as instructed.

Case Management Duties

  • Deliver intensive case management services to children and families, addressing needs that adversely affect family functioning.
  • Engage in interagency meetings as necessary.
  • Contribute to Individualized Educational Plans as appropriate.
  • Complete necessary reports to relevant agencies as required.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director, Clinical Consultant, Administrative Staff, Quality Assurance Department, and billing department to monitor quality assurance and manage programmatic aspects effectively.
  • Maintain comprehensive records that meet State and Federal clinical documentation standards across all funding sources.

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

Additional Requirements

  • All necessary child abuse clearances (PA Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse Clearance, and Federal Criminal History Clearance)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Auto insurance with 100/300/50 coverage
